Like the first bali lounge, bali lounge 2 was the vision of Gita Wirjawan, a professional banker originally trained as a pianist, who wanted to promote musicians in his native Indonesia by collaborating them with International musicians into a place called Bali Lounge. He also brought on boardother talented Indonesian musicians as guests in the album. Bali lounge 2 came out with more popish nuance compared to the first one.
The idea is still to give Indonesian players a chance to work with international players and produce a kind of world music as unique as its varied roots.
Still Working with Lewis Pragasam the Malaysian-born Indian drummer and Harry Toledo on bass. Gita also recruited Iwan Abdie and Alvin Loebis on vocals and keyboards respectively as well as Chris Wright, a solid guitarist and songwriter from Australia to complete the group. Other known singers and musicians also participated as guest in the album such as as Lou-CP, Menu’, Irsa Destiwi as well as instrumentalists using percussions and bamboo flute.
